Book San Francisco Rock, The Illustrated History Of San Francisco Rock Music 1965 1985 by Jack McDonough £24.99 Add To Cart
In San Francisco Rock author Jack McDonough, veteran correspondent for Billboard, celebrates this music and portrays the San Francisco music scene as a star in its own right a cultural engine that continues to fuel a staggering variety of pop musical forms. The book examines the historical, social, and business reasons for this; looks at satellite factors to the music such as radio, poster art, nightclubs and studios; and presents individual essays on the more than 100 significant recording bands to have emerged from the Bay Area. Richly illustrated with more than one hundred vintage photographs, San Francisco Rock is a vivid and compelling view of one of the most fascinating and self-sustaining cultural milieus in the world.

St Albans Antibof Fanzine 1977 Clash, Johnny Thunders, Damned, Jam, Stranglers, Motorhead etc. £9.99 Add To Cart
The St. Albans Antibof was one of the very first local punk fanzines. It ran to 6 issues, but in its short life (May October 1977) managed to cover an amazing amount of groups. It was written and produced (photocopied) in a typical punk style. Original copies being practically unobtainable, in the 1980s a reprinted compilation of all 6 issues (62 A4 pages plus soft covers) was produced in the style of a comb bound book. Reading it now, it was truly of its time. This copy of the comb bound book is in excellent condition. It contains: Issue 1: JAM (interview), TANYA HYDE AND THE TORMENTORS (interview), TEQUILA (a St. Albans band interview), Anarchic singles reviews. Issue 2: Review of the WHITE RIOT TOUR in St Albans CLASH, SLITS, SUBWAY SECT, BUZZCOCKS, Review of the DAMNED and ADVERTS tour. Interview with local promoter.
